Frequently Asked Questions
Kangayam Ghee is a premium-quality, traditionally crafted ghee made from the milk of kangayam cows, a native breed of Tamil Nadu. It is known for its rich aroma, golden hue, and high nutritional value.
Unlike commercially produced ghee, kangayam Ghee is sourced exclusively from indigenous kangayam cows. The traditional preparation process enhances its flavor, nutritional profile, and digestibility, making it superior to mass-produced alternatives.
At Village Company, we follow the Bilona method, an age-old technique that ensures purity and maximum nutrient retention. Our ghee is derived from grass-fed kangayam cows, known for producing A2 milk, which is considered superior in digestibility and health benefits.
We source pure A2 milk from indigenous, free-grazing cows raised in ethical and natural environments. Our cows are grass-fed, not injected with hormones, ensuring that every drop of milk is pure, chemical-free, and rich in nutrition.
The Bilona method is a traditional Vedic process where milk is fermented into curd, then hand-churned to extract butter, which is slow-cooked to make ghee. This preserves nutrients, enhances digestion, and ensures purity, unlike industrial methods that use machines and high heat.
We take utmost care in packaging, but in rare cases, spillage may occur. If you receive a spilled or damaged product, please take a photo and contact our support team within 24 hours of delivery. We will assess the issue and arrange for a replacement or refund as per our policy.
A2 Ghee is made from A2 milk. A2 milk is easier to digest and safer to consume because it is naturally free from lactose and casein. A1 Ghee, on the other hand, is made from A1 milk. A1 milk contains A1 beta-casein, which produces BCM-7, a compound linked to bloating, inflammation, and digestion issues.
Since A2 milk does not produce BCM-7, it is gentler on the stomach and supports gut health, heart health, and immunity—making it the better choice for daily use.
To identify pure kangayam Ghee, look for:
- A golden yellow color
- A rich, nutty aroma
A grainy texture when solidified
Yes. Since our ghee is free from lactose and casein, most lactose-intolerant individuals can consume it without issues. However, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional before making dietary changes
We use the Bilona method, where fresh milk is first turned into curd, then churned to extract butter, and finally slow-cooked to produce pure, aromatic ghee. This traditional process ensures the highest quality and nutrient retention.
Due to the nature of our products, we do not accept returns once the package is opened. However, if you receive a damaged, expired, or incorrect item, please reach out to us within 3 days of delivery with photographic evidence, and we will process a refund or replacement.
Our A2 Ghee is made in small batches, ensuring purity and authenticity. Since it is free from preservatives and mass-processing, its texture may change naturally. Factors like local weather and the cow’s seasonal diet and other biological markers affect the consistency—ghee may be grainy, smooth, or slightly liquid. These variations are a hallmark of handcrafted, pure ghee, and do not impact its quality or nutrition.
Real A2 Ghee has a naturally light aroma because we use the Bilona method, which preserves nutrients without overheating. Many commercial ghees have an artificially strong fragrance due to additives or high-heat processing.
Our A2 Ghee is made from the milk of indigenous cows using the Bilona method, which yields less ghee but ensures higher quality and nutrition. Unlike mass-produced ghee, we do not use machines, additives, or shortcuts, making it a time-consuming but healthier process.
